Minipack, Micropack & Easypack Information

Learn more about our convenient pack options for greater order flexibility and improved inventory management. 

When smaller quantities are desired for your favorite Caplugs products, convenient minipack, micropack and easypack options are available for most catalog series. 

These offerings, which come in standard dimensions and colors, allow for ordering based on need so you won’t have to worry about extra parts piling up around the shop. 

Sizing

When selecting between the different packs it is important to know that minipacks are the largest of the three options, followed by micropack then easypack. A general rule is to divide by five to determine the different quantities offered.

Micropacks are 1/5 the size of a minipack and easypacks are 1/5 the size of micropacks. A simple example starting with a carton of 1,000 then dividing by five can be seen below.

Carton = 1,000
Minipack = 200
Micropack = 40
Easypack = 8

While minipacks and micropacks are currently available for most series, it should be noted there are currently 40 catalog series (520 items) available in easypack sizes. Any parts that are not currently available in these smaller quantities can be added upon request. When a new minipack, micropack or easypack is added, it may take slightly longer to ship than those currently available. Once added it will be available for normal shipping thereafter.

Common Industries & Part Applications

Micropacks, minipacks and easypacks are commonly used by electronics (computing), aviation and aerospace industries for some of the following applications:

  • Aviation/aerospace MRO
  • Electronic connectors
  • Hydraulic fittings, SAE, JIC
  • MIL/NAS 831, 833, 834, 837
  • NPT fittings 1/8” through 6”
  • Schedule 40 pipe 1/8” through 8”

Other Notes:

It is important to note there are some exceptions to the 1/5 rule. They are as follows:

  • A series may use 1/4 instead of 1/5 based on an even breakdown
  • Some micropacks may be 1/10 the size of minipacks
